The military junta has been continuously sending new recruits to the Rakhine frontlines since the first batch in May 2024. According to military records, nearly 500 new recruits have been reported missing or killed, and hundreds more are unaccounted for and have lost contact with their families.
A source from the Arakan Army (AA) disclosed that approximately 70 junta recruits have either surrendered to the AA or been captured. Furthermore, since May 2024, the junta has been forcibly conscripting thousands of young men into military service, with each batch comprising nearly 5,000 individuals.
