Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been under arrest since the day of the coup, was sentenced to 33 years in prison for 19 cases by the Military Council. The five cases filed in 2021 will be released from the remaining sentences, according to a press release today.
It is said that President U Win Myint, who is serving a 12-year prison term for 8 cases, will be released from the remaining prison terms for 2 cases filed in 2021.
In addition, 7,749 inmates in various prisons were released from prisons. 22 members of the indigenous armed forces and 72 associates and 125 foreigners were released.
