On June 4, more than 3,000 residents of the village were forced to flee after the column arrived at 9 a.m. in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region into Nyaungpingyi Village.


Locals are fleeing places such as Nyangpingyi village group Nyaungpingyi, Nyaungywashay, Theintaw, Hnintaw, Htantaw, No.3, No.4, according to the Anyar-Pyit-Taing-Htaung-Lay Group, which is helping the locals.



Today, according to the reports of the fleeing residents, there are many places in the village, including the Dhama Hall, that have been set up.



Nyaungpingyi Village and Monywa Town are located on each side of the Chindwin River.


Before entering the village, on June 1st, the military council accused a defense member from Nyangpingyi village and arrested him, and detained him at Nyangpingyi police station, according to residents.




On June 3, the accused was taken to the Monywa side, and on the same day when he was taken, a local man was also shot in the knee by a shot by the Military Council, according to the Anyar-Pyit-Tai-Htaung-Lay Group Association.


Before that, on June 2, there were heavy weapons fired from the Monywa side of Nyaungpingyi village, and since that time, some local residents had to evacuate.
