People's Defence Forces Fully Capture Tagaung City in Mandalay Region

The Ministry of Defence of the National Unity Government reported that the People's Defence Forces had successfully attacked and captured the town of Tagaung, where the military junta had only about 100 personnel. On the 12th of August, the junta's military camps, including the General Administration Office, Police Station, and other junta offices in Tagaung, were seized by the People's Defence Forces Alliance.


Currently, the entire town is under the control of the People's Defence Forces Alliance. There were more than 100 personnel, including the army, Pyu Saw Hti, and militia, in the town of Tagaung, and they all fled. Some were captured as prisoners of war, and their weapons and ammunition were confiscated.


The People's Defence Forces, along with allied forces, gradually penetrated Tagaung through Tigyaing Township starting in July. On July 25, the revolutionary forces captured the hilltop security outpost of the Tagaung Nickel Factory in Mong Gone Village. They continued to capture the Tagaung Nickel Factory, which has seen an investment of $885 million from China. On July 20, the People's Defence Forces captured the military junta's communication tower hilltop outpost in Innet Village, Tagaung.
