A public meeting on Myanmar Affairs was held at the Allen County Public Library in Fort Wayne, U.S., on November 10, 2024. NUG Human Rights Minister U Aung Myo Min and Dr. Mie Mei Win Byrd jointly explained the current situation in Myanmar during the event.
U Aung Myo Min called for a swift end to the military dictatorship in Myanmar. One attendee said they were encouraged by the minister's remarks and expressed support for continuing the fight for freedom.
Dr. Mie Mei Win Byrd emphasized the importance of collaboration among Myanmar-born individuals living abroad, noting that such cooperation serves as a model and practice for a federal democratic system.
More than 250 people attended the public meeting. Attendees raised questions on topics including relations with regional countries, the need to end military rule, and the overall situation in Myanmar.
