Britain warns not to travel to 9 regions and states in Myanmar.

The Government of the United Kingdom has warned British citizens not to travel to 9 regions and states in Myanmar where war is happening. After banning the right to travel in 8 regions and states last July, Since September 18, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) released that it has been extended to one place. It is stated in the warning that the additional area is Myeik Township, Thanintharyi Division, which includes the southern islands of Thanintharyi and the southern townships, and the remaining 8 are Mon, Kachin, Chin, Kayah, Kayin, Northern Rakhine, Sagaing, and Magway.

Additionally, it is recommended to travel only when it’s needed to the central part of Rakhine State, including Mandalay Region, Shan State, and Sittwe District. After the coup, government buildings and checkpoints in areas including Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw and areas associated with the military continue to be targeted. Be careful as attacks are possible in restaurants and shopping centers, including hotels frequented by foreigners. The announcement was made due to the airstrikes in Myanmar, artillery fire, the presence of landmines and armed clashes happening around the country, and the presence of conflict and terrorist attacks.
